all kinds of happenings....

i am never really on the computer when i am in michigan... but my lovely sister told me that i need to write more, so i am writing today....

friday was karen's wedding. it was beautiful. she was a stunning bride and everyone loved the wedding (who would say they hated a wedding?!). we just got the pictures back from the photographer, but i am waiting until karen sees them before i post them. :) it was a really nice wedding though with good food and a lot of people!

saturday was a surprise 80th birthday for my grandma. it wasn't my most shining moment, but i survived and it was good to see family....

yesterday (sunday) i went kayaking. i was highly opposed to going on lake michigan because we had rip current warnings and it was windy and the waves were quite fierce. allen put sharon in a kayak and tried to push her out on the lake and it knocked her over. so lake michigan was abandoned and we went out to this park that has a lake/pond that is about a mile in diameter. it was so much fun! once i figured out how to go fast, i was really loving it! after a while of racing each other us girls (me, sharon, and audj) all linked up and floated around talking while allen floated around on his own listening to the cubs game. i really like kayaking (when there is no threat of me tipping over and getting trapped under a tree...which was my fear with lake mi...and yes there are "trees" in the lake... more like driftwood and logs...and a foot could get easily entangled). i felt like a pirate in my seaworthy vessel...prodigy 10... in fire orange. after kayaking we went back to sharon and al's and ordered pizza and watched "paul blart: mall cop". oh! and i got to see my lovely eliana. i tell you what, i love that baby. she is one of my favorite babies...her and israel...my two favs.

today i have been home with mom all day. we didn't do anything spectacular. i read...she did something...i really don't know what. when good ol' dad came home, we went to silver beach pizza (yum!) and ate dinner. it is really cold here today and i think the high tomorrow is like 68... so mom and i are going to go to the movies. :)
