100 year flood is what they're calling it....

...and the rains came down.

it has been raining since last tuesday.  things started to get a bit serious over the weekend with the rain...it has no where to go.  they have said on the news that paulding (where i live) has received 15+ inches of rain over the weekend.  on top of what we have already gotten from the week.  and guess what...it is raining as i type.  roads are washed out, bridges are unstable and are collapsing, stores are closed and the ones that are open are only taking cash.  it seriously feels like the end of the world.  i know it is not the end of the world, but it is definitely intense.  and where we live (off of a main road) we are kinda trapped.  we can't go to hiram because the roads are blocked.  we can't go into dvill because bridges are covered (and douglas county is in a state of emergency AND they won't have ANY water for 4 days! p.s. that is where school/work is....).  we are stuck here with only the chevron open and beck went earlier and said that the lines were crazy and there were a bunch of people buying up all the beer (the most important necessity, of course). it stormed...like big dog stormed from last evening all through the night and we lost power (naturally) at 5:33 this morning.  i received a text saying school was cancelled today at 6:20 due to the weather.  i guess that "good morning america" also spoke about hiram and dville this morning.  it has been intense.

i am not thrilled about being "trapped" in the house...to the point of where i had to check the mail earlier just to go outside.  but i am grateful. i am thankful to have an extra day of rest and we have been SO incredibly blessed to not have any water in the house through the roof or through the doors.  the worst of our problems are that the pool has had to be drained 3x so it wouldn't overflow and lightning hit and exploded 2 of our tvs (the ones in our bedrooms naturally...).  i am hoping that we don't lose water (by the way, how stinking ironic is that?!).  i noticed the shower pressure this morning is not what it usually is and the toilets are not wanting to flush real well either...and they are taking a long time to fill up.... :/
