yo-ho, yo-ho, a pirate's life for me....

if i believed in former lives, i think i would have been a pirate...or at least in love with a pirate. i have enjoyed things like the "pirates of the carribean" movies, captain hook was always my favorite in "peter pan", and even down to my clothing...i just stopped wearing hoop earrings, but still wear striped shirts. i am forever offering to cut off my students' legs when they get hurt and give them a peg leg/eye patch/parrot. i have yet to have any takers. i even changed my facebook language to "pirate". needless to say, i have had an subconscious love of pirates for some while.

while in savannah (with the parents!), we did a lot of historical things, ate a paula deen's,
shopped, visited tybee island (which is euchee indian for "salt")...but my most favorite thing was the pirate house. i love that they were obviously drunk while building their saloon because the door frames are very obviously crooked. i love the fact that it is packed full of history (and the 5th most haunted place in america). i love the fact that robert louis stevenson visited there while writing treasure island. i love the fact that the floor is heavily slanted to the left in the entire house....and that there are tunnels leading to the river under the house to throw the drunks in and that they were then enlisted in the navy. love it!!!

lsf took some pictures on her camera and hopefully she'll learn how to send them in email attachments so i can post them. oh! and i am now reading treasure island... i have never read it before and i am loving it...naturally! :)
