Quick and Easy Frosting

Quick and Easy Frosting

1/4 cup butter or margarine (1/2 stick), softened
4 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup warm water (or milk)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/16 tsp (pinch) salt

In a mixing bowl add butter and 1 cup of powdered sugar.  Beat with an electric mixer until blended.  Add in another cup of powdered sugar, the vanilla extract, and 1-2 Tbsp of warm water.  Beat with the mixer until well blended.  Add another cup of powdered sugar with 1 Tbsp of water and beat.  Then repeat with the remaining ingredients.  Beat an additional minute until the frosting is fluffy and all of the sugar is incorporated.

That's interesting that you use water in the icing; i've never thought of that. That frosting looks so thick and creamy and pretty!

Thanks. I like to use water especially for my little guy who is lactose intolerant, I always use warm water though. I do milk when it doesn't matter :)
oh good! simple and basic. hard to find a frosting like that these days-LOL so this one's a keeper for me :)
